Hey! I’m Rebecca. I started taking photos at Punk shows when I was 13.. Think MxPx, Bad Religion, The Offspring. As I grew, my love of music and photography only merged more and more. I’ve photographed almost any band you throw at me over after over 20 years of concerts! Much like photographing at a concert venue, that challenge of a new venue, interesting (or awesome) lighting, constant “I don’t know what to do with my hands” makes weddings all that more fun! Over those 20 plus years I’ve lived and worked in Virginia, Oregon, California and for now over 10 years in New York, I was lucky enough to be a Navy brat so I’ve seen so much of the States as well as 2 1/2 years in Iceland.
I started wedding and family photography while finishing up my BFA in Advertising photography, eating way too may burritos and riding my bike all over San Francisco and at the Academy of Art. I’ve finally settled in the Hudson Valley in New York with my husband who is also a pretty epic photographer. I hike, fly fish, ride bikes, and I knit.. I knit a lot… You’ll even see me in a photo pit at a show now and again being the biggest nerd singing along to every word, with every band, with my camera up to my eye.
Even though we just settled into life in the Hudson Valley in Feb. of 2021 I have been photographing weddings in the area for close to 11 years at venues such as: Whitbey Castle in Rye NY ,Feast at Round Hill in Washingtonville, NY, University Settlement Camp in Beacon, NY (honestly one of my favorites), Onteora Mountain House in Boiceville, NY, and can’t forget, West Point Academy at the Thayer Hotel (GO NAVY!!!!) and of course, my upcoming weddings at Brotherhood Winery, Round House in Beacon, and just my many engagement shoots around the Hudson Valley, Catskills and Westchester County. A few favorites are anywhere in Harriman State Park, just wondering around Beacon, Cold Spring, or Kingston, or if you wanna get adventurous, lets hike the 400 total steps to Kaaterskill!
